Kim Brewer, RWTS Founder and Coach
I have been married for 20 years and have two beautiful daughters, Dani and Jorji. I started exercising about 14 years ago after putting on weight following my pregnancies. Just running on the treadmill and counting calories, I lost 50 pounds in 9 months and thought, “ WOW! If I can do this, I can help others get healthy and get into fitness as well.” I started out coaching six years ago, mainly because my daughters like the activity and to help kids achieve their fitness goals. The idea of Running with the Stars is simply to educate kids 1st-6th grade in healthy life habits and encourage them to be active. My daughters and I have run in the Ashburn VillageTurkey Trot and the Nearly Naked Mile at Reston town Center. I have walked in the Avon Two Day Walk in Washington, DC in support of Breast Cancer the past five years and looking forward to walking again in 2017. I love coaching all the kids and can’t wait until our next race!

Jen Canoy, RWTS Coach
I live in Ashburn with my husband and our two daughters, Mya and Lily. I became a coach with RWTS eight years ago when my older daughter signed up for the program. My husband, Dennis, is a runner. He’s participated for the past nine years in the Army Ten Miler, ran a half marathon, has finished the Marine Corp Marathon twice, and has done several runs in the Spartan Race Series. Our girls and I are his biggest cheerleaders and I think the excitement of watching him at these events has sparked in interest in them to run too! I can be seen walking all over Ashburn, especially when getting ready for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer when Kim and I log 30-40 miles per week in trianing miles.  It has been so much fun watching the kids build friendships through RWTS. The progress the kids make from the first week of the program to the end is fantastic. There is nothing better than hearing how proud they are when they finish the 5K at the end of the session! I look forward to many more seasons with Running with the Stars!
