Coach Flora is a mother of two boys, Ivan 5 and Diego 8. She moved to Leesburg in 2010, and her son Diego joined RWTS in first grade. He had a great experience but switched schools in second grade. Since Balls Bluff did't have a running program at that point, Flora and a friend decided to start one! This will be the fourth season Balls Bluff will participate in RWTS program. Flora loves to run. She won't say she runs long distances or at a fast pace, but she is definitely committed to gettng out there and hitting the pavement!
My name is Karen Jensen and this will be my fifth season coaching RWTS at Ashburn. I have a daughter Jessica is sixth grade wjo is an avid runner and the reason I got into coaching. I also have two sons, John in third grade and Joshua in first grade. I enjoy coaching and watching the kids progress throughout the season. In my spare time I run, go to the gym and spend time with my family.
I am currently coaching my fourth season of Running with the Stars with my husband, Pete.  I am by no means an avid runner, but I run to stay healthy.  My husband is more of a natural runner, has run many races, and truly enjoys it.  We started the Running with the Stars program at Cedar Lane last fall because there was no co-ed running team at Cedar Lane at that time, only Girls on the Run.  We knew our son Jack and other boys in the school could really benefit from a running team, especially boys like our son who are not as athletic in other sports but still need to stay active and healthy and be a part of a team.  Coaching was a way for us to give this opportunity to our son and other students and we also really loved the idea of our entire family, including our daughter, Mairin, running together.  We were shocked at how much both of our children and the rest of the teammates enjoyed it and were inspired by it.  They set goals for themselves as runners and accomplished them in completing their first 5K race.  The smiles on their faces and the pride in their eyes and their parents’ eyes have inspired us to coach our fourth season.
I am a teacher at Fox Mill Elementary School and a mother of two boys, ages 14 and 10. This is my sixth year coaching Running with the Stars. I have always loved running and the sense of accomplishment it gives me. I started running in races in 2007 and have completed 8 half marathons and 3 full marathons. The Running with the Stars program has allowed me to share the love of running with many boys at my school. I'm looking forward to another great season!
My name is Connie Jaworski and I have been a Running with the Stars coach since the program’s inception at Mountain View in spring 2014. My running career started about 20 years ago when I joined the track and cross country teams in high school. Since then, I have continued to run and have participated in several road races. In addition to running, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married since 2004 and have two children - Kevin and Evelyn. Some of our favorite activities include bowling, ice skating, roller skating, playing games and going to the movies. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a coach for Running with the Stars and I am looking forward to another great season!
Brian has been running since right after he learned how to walk and has been competing at it almost as long.  He competed in track and field in high school and at the collegiate level.  He has over 10 years of coaching experience in both Track and Field and Cross Country.  Brian has a passion for running and coaching and he hopes to pass that passion on to all the young runners that he gets to work with.  He has been coaching Running with the Stars at Mountain View since the Fall 2014 Season.

I've been teaching fitness classes for over 20 years. I'm currently an instructor at Gold's Gym and LA Fitness. I am also a coach at Orangetheory. I think fitness and good health should be promoted at every age.
I am a mother of four and currently working as a preschool assistant. This will be my second and last season to coach RWTS, since my baby is in 5th grade.
I have been a runner most of my life. Never a distance runner, but 5 and 10K distances. It is a great way to feel good and stay healthy. I loved how the season culminated at the fall race. The day brought everything from our runners placing top in the race, running their personal best time, or crossing a finish line for their first 5K race. Every accomplishment was amazing to watch and be a part of.
The Rose Hill Coaches come from Alexandria, Virginia. Megan Glovier, Breanne Case, Sarah Shin, and Becca Corcoran work with charming 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. In addition, they have recruited the help of Brittany Rogers (fabulous 1st Grade Teacher) and Audra Evans (Rose Hill Rocket Parent to Josh, Lucas, and Alexa). This 6 woman power squad is a force to be reckoned with and they are ready to RUN RUN RUN! All six coaches enjoy working with kids and extending opportunity. They cannot wait to see what this season holds!
My name is Jessica Pope and this is my 3rd season with Running with the Stars. I have been with the Arcola Elementary Family for 3 years now and will be there for many, many more because I have 4 children. I am a current runner and plan to participate in 2 marathons this year. I have completed a handful of ½ marathons, 10k & 5k races over the past 2 years and my goal is to encourage a love of healthy living! In my spare time I teach Jazzercise at South Riding Dance. All 4 of my children usually accompany me to the practices and the 2 youngest love to cheer on the kids. We are all very excited to do this again!

My name is Holly Dubbeling and this is my third season coaching with Running with the Stars at Mosby Woods Elementary School. I have been married for 15 years and have three kids (Ashley 6th, Ryan 4th, Sarah 2nd). I started running in the 8th grade and continued running competitively through college. I was off-and-on with my running during my professional life and while my kids were really young but picked it back up again over the past 5 years or so. While running is obviously a good exercise, I've never viewed it as merely a way to get in shape. I just really love to run! I have always enjoyed the fact that it can be a social activity with friends or a solo activity to destress, work out a problem, or just enjoy being outside. I hope I can help instill this passion and energy for running in my own kids and all the other kids who sign up to participate in the program. I'm looking forward to this season!
My name is Annie Powell and although I ran on my high school track team and a little during college, running didn't start to really mean much to me until I became a mom in 2007. My husband, who is also a runner, and I have a second grade daughter named Emily and fraternal twin boys, Cameron and Jacob, who are in Kindergarten. Running and overall fitness is my therapy. I have completed 5k's, 10k's, 1 half marathon (training for my second) and Sprint Triathlons. I love the physical benefits running brings but I am a much better mom and wife when I get in a good run. I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer in January of 2015 and looking forward to helping people of all ages come to love running and its overall benefits. I am thrilled to be an Assistant Coach at Algonkian ES this year!
I just moved to Stone Ridge this year with my husband and two kids. Our daughter is in second grade at Arcola and was in the running club at her former school, so thought this would be a great opportunity for her to keep active and meet friends with a shared interest. Our son is in pre-school but will be joining his sister at practices! I run mostly at the gym but as a family have done several 5Ks together. I'm excited to join Coach Jessica and watch the kids run their hearts out this season
My name is Rachel Karnes and this is my first season as an Assistant Coach with Running With the Stars.  My older daughter, Aubrey, a second grader, participated in RWTS this past Fall and loved it.  My younger daughter, Leah, a Kindergartner, also saw how exciting the program was and is anxious to get involed next year!  I was thrilled with it and what it taught my daughters and wanted to help build that passion.  My children also see that I have a love for sports and having a healthy lifestyle.  I started very young as a serious soccer player and played through college, then turned to triathlons, which I loved.  I completed an Ironman and have done other Half-Ironmans, Olumpic and Sprint triathlons, 1/2 marathons and many other races.  I was a girls Varsity soccer coach for 9 years as well as coached through Loudon youth soccer for both my children.  I truly want to help young kids develop a love for exercising while having fun!  I am so excited to be an Assistant Coach this Spring at Algonkian Elementary School.
’m Brendon Gibson and along with my wife Rica we have three great kids: Kai (12), Noa (9) and Tia (3). Spring 2017 is my second season as a RWTS coach. I’ve run a few marathons, but none for a long time. I’ve been sticking to a 5K here and there. I’ve really enjoyed working with the kids and am excited to coach again this year. My name is Jenny Lee and this is my first season coaching Running With the Stars. My husband and I have three boys: a 3rd grader, 1st grader, and 2.5 year old. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family. I hope to instill a love of exercise in the kids. I'm looking forward to a fun season!
My name is Melissa Ni and I am thrilled to be serving as lead coach for RWTS at Stenwood Elementary School. Both of my children, Nathaniel (3rd), and Elizabeth (1st), will be participating in RWTS. They are excited to run with me and many of their classmates as we support and encourage each other toward completing a 5K! I've been running since 2013 and have completed numerous 5K, 10K, 10 mile, and half marathon races. I started my running journey after completing an online Couch to 5K program. I've had the pleasure of coaching two groups of adult women through Couch to 5K programs as a part of my role as Chapter Leader for Vienna/Oakton Mom's Run This Town. Running brings me a tremendous amount of joy, and I love passing that joy along to others as they discover the ways running can transform their lives. I can't wait to see where the RWTS journey takes the students I'll be coaching at Stenwood. I'll be there to cheer them on and guide them every step of the way!

Hello everyone! My name is Sukhi and I am very excited to coach the young children at Eagle View Elementary including my 8 year old daughter for their first 5K. Running and myself became friends a few years back and irrespective of many hurdles, I've somehow continued to keep going. It's takes determination, focus and hard work but most important it's the rush and feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finish line that keeps me going. I've ran several 5Ks and 10Ks and am hopeful to complete my first half marathon this year! Excited to inspire and be inspired through this fantastic program!
Anshu starting running just 7 years ago but has fallen in love with it. She enjoys running races and has done a 10k, 15k and 10 miler in the past few years. She loves to share her love for running with her daughter, Karina (1st Grade). RWTS seemed like the perfect opportunity to encourage her as well as her peers. She is looking forward to learning from all the young runners and hopes to improve her speed while running after them.
